Cardboard Catastrophe
The objection of this project was to make a 3D model of anything we wanted and find the surface area of it. The expectations of this project was to sketch a drawing of what we wanted to make a 3D model of and identify the shapes we would be using. Second, we had to begin measuring cardboard, and creating our 3D model. Our materials were mainly, cardboard, tape and glue. Some of us used wood for more structure. After we are done with our model we have to decorate of course. when we finally done with our model we have to start measuring and calculating the surface area (SA) of our shapes, we add all of it up and Wala we have our (SA) of our entire model. I decided to model a house and my shapes that I used was a rectangular prism, triangular prism and a rectangle. I measured them and found my (SA). My (SA) of my entire house is 2492 inches squared. Then we had to calculate our volume, my volume of my house is 1635.25 inches cubed. At first I thought I wouldn’t be able to find the (SA) of my entire house, but after I learned it, it was really easy, I am really proud of what I accomplished. I really enjoyed this project, it was a great opportunity for me to learn more about area, perimeter, volume and (SA).
